Story: The Rogue King
I like to think of Yardain as a woman who’s seen that many strange things happening in the desert that she’s no longer fazed. She would’ve seen Rogues come and go, likely dictating a few of those passings. And when the Rogue King came along to upset the balance she’d ordered, she still managed to get his giant, lizard ass into line.
Somewhere along the way, she gained a bit of a back-story — and a son who she gave up — that didn’t make it into the actual novel. A bit of a pity.
I think I’ve done about three pictures of this woman, changing more and more of her clothing. I started off with something muted, but most Roguesses are flamboyant things and, it took a bit of fussing through my digital wardrobe to be satisfied that this was something she would wear. And whilst she is old, I figured there wouldn’t be too many wrinkles happening when you’re covered in scales.
