For those who don’t know, IWSG is a group where people can share their writing struggles and offer encouragement and support to other members. To sign up, click here.
This month, the co-hosts who are helping IWSG’s founder, Alex J. Cavanaugh, manage this great group are… Julie Flanders, Shannon Lawrence, Fundy Blue and Heather Gardner. Do be sure to pop by their sites and thank them!

It’s been so long since I’ve done a IWSG post. I’ve been up to my eyeballs in trying to get In Pain and Blood ready for its release on the 15th. It’s been a while since I’ve released anything new, with most of the stuff being re-releases after getting my rights back.
Of course, I have to chuck myself back into the deep end with a 309k whopper that’s also a high fantasy mm romance. Trying to remind myself that just about every word I hear, from my critique partners all the way top beta/arc readers, is good.
Still… *gnaws nails*
As you look back on 2017, with all its successes/failures, if you could backtrack, what would you do differently?
Probably given myself a little more time towards getting In Pain and Blood ready. A lot of it wasn’t in my control (like copy editors dropping my work after having it for a month, twice) and so I’m here having just finished the proofreading with precious little time to upload it. But then, I also believed I’d be done with writing it some months back. And goodness knows when the map artist I’ve commissioned will finally be done because she wound up backlogged.
Hopefully, Dark One’s Bride won’t be as troublesome, because I plan to tackle that new year.
Oh, and if you don’t mind, I’d like to ask for a little support for my Thunderclap campaign.
You’ll get there. Releases can often be stressful but it’s great when it all comes together. Good luck!

It’s tough when things out of your control don’t go as planned, but you’re pushing onward and that’s inspiring. Good luck and here’s to a grand 2018 for all of us!

Isn’t it frustrating when you have to wait on other peoples who don’t meet their/your deadlines? Been there more times than I can say. Wishing you much success with this release. I hope 2018 is a great year for all of us.
